Recruiting Dentists to the Safety Net
Our 2023 Sign Up, Pay Down employment incentive initiative was a resounding success, enabling five dental safety net practices to hire new dentists. This has expanded access to dental care for thousands of Virginians. Recruiting dentists remains a challenge for all practices. While there are many benefits to working in the dental safety net, it has been difficult for many of you to match the salaries and benefits offered by private practices.
As a result, we are launching Sign Up Pay Down 2.0 to provide a $40,000 employment incentive package for five Virginia dental safety net practices.
Sign Up, Pay Down Details
- Incentive packages include $20,000 for a signing bonus and $20,000 in student loan repayment funding in return for a two year practice commitment.
- Available to any Virginia dental safety net organization that has a substantial portfolio of Medicaid patients and is in the midst of recruiting a dentist.
- Preference will be given to practices located in a dental professional shortage area and a medically underserved area.
- Awardees will have four months from the date of award to contract with their new dentist.
Recruitment season is in full swing and time is of the essence! Don’t miss your chance to strengthen your team and expand the availability of dental care in your area. Applications, which should only take about 30 minutes to complete, must be submitted by April 4, 2025 to be considered.
